The submission phase for the 2nd SHORT FILM FEST TRIPOINT DE-AT-CZ runs until 31/08/2022.A film can only be submitted via the website of Filmfreeway.
REGULATIONS
1. General Information
The 2nd Tri-Border Region Short Film Festival will take place from 29/11 – 03/12/2023. The competition will present contemporary short films by filmmakers from Germany and its neighbouring countries Austria and the Czech Republic.
2. Submissions
Only short feature films, documentaries and animated films by filmmakers from Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic may be submitted. The submitted film must also have been produced and shot in these countries. Films from Germany and Austria have to be produced in German language, films from the Czech Republic in Czech or English language.
The following cannot be submitted: experimental films, music videos, image films, VR films, individual episodes from series, travel films, sports films, demo reels, exercise films.
The submitted film must not be older than 2 years and and must have been made in the year 2020, 2021 and 2022.
The submitted film must be at least 3 minutes long and must not exceed a maximum of 25 minutes.
Films submitted in the previous year cannot be submitted again.
Only directors, producers and agencies can submit. In the case of a submission by the producer or an agency, the full contact details (e-mail and telephone number) of the director must be given.
Each filmmaker can submit a maximum of 2 films.
Submitted films may not have been published (YouTube, Vimeo, Amazon Prime etc.) or broadcast on television by the time the festival takes place. A premiere status, on the other hand, is not necessary and screenings at festivals are also exempt from this rule.
Filmmakers, producers or agencies who are in close contact with the organizer MALTESEKREUZ FILM are excluded from submission.
3. Rights
The entrant is responsible for clarifying the necessary rights to use the film within the framework of the festival. He/she declares that he/she is authorised to allow the festival to use the film and that the use of the film within the framework of the festival does not infringe the rights of third parties (e.g. copyrights, intellectual property copyrights, personal rights, name rights, trademark rights) and in particular that the rights to any third party material used (music, film, photos, texts etc.) have been cleared for use. The entrant indemnifies the festival in this respect from all claims by third parties arising from use of the film at the festival. This also includes the necessary and reasonable costs of a legal defence.
4. Notification
The list of accepted films will be published on our website https://www.kurzfilmfest-dreilaendereck.de in early October. In addition, the respective entrants will be notified by email.
5. Screening Copy
Accepted screening formats for the screening copy are the digital film formats MP4 / MOV in HD format 1920 x 1080. Film submissions from Germany and Austria must be submitted in German and also be provided with English subtitles. Film submissions from the Czech Republic must be submitted in Czech or English and also be provided with English or (preferably) German subtitles. All subtitles must be in SRT format.
7. Press and Promotional Materials
Entrants whose films have been selected agree to the use of press and promotional materials from the film. The material (stills, film and audio excerpts up to a maximum length of 60 seconds) will be passed on by the Tri-Border Region Short Film Festival to third parties for the purpose of reporting on the festival, and may be used by them.
The images and film excerpts will also be made available to publicly-accessible festival publications and the festival’s online media (websites, apps, social media channels) and remain available there for an unlimited time and in all territories.
8. Privacy Policy
The protection and security of your personal data is important to us. By submitting a film, the Tri-Border Region Short Film Festival is permitted to process the data provided for the purpose of running the festival.
